My name is Lien Vandereycken.
I discovered Karma Koma for the first time in Bali when I was on a holiday break with my best friend in 2012. We both completely fell in love with this small brand and even started thinking of opening a multibrand shop in Leuven with unknown little brands. But the holiday ended and our work-life took over and so the idea slowly faded.
But in the summer of 2018, I was on a holiday in Saint Remy de Provence in the south of France and I walked in to this cute little shop called Karma Koma. I didn't immediately realise it was that same brand I discovered 6 years ago, but I felt a coup de foudre straight-away. Back in our holiday-home I started surfing their website and I decided to write them an email asking them whether they were interested in opening a shop in Belgium.
Only one day after returning from our holiday I was on a plane to Corsica, to meet the people behind the brand and so the story began. I quit my job and opened a beautiful shop in the centre of Leuven.
What is so wonderful about this brand?
It's effortless, timeless and ever so elegant. It's definitely one of the most feminine brands I know.
Most of the collection is made in their own little workplace in Bali, with respect for the people who work there and I simply adore the hand-made finishing touches.
Laurence Appietto is the main designer, backed up by a strong team!
It feels like I've walked into a small family business where I felt at ease straight away.
And after a year, I feel like I really personify Karma Koma myself. I live and breath Karma Koma. It became a lifestyle, that I can only recommend to all women out there.
